Ernst Habermas

Ernst Habermas (born August 30, 1891 in Oberrahmede ; † 1972 ) was a German entrepreneur.

Habermas, son of the theologian Friedrich Habermas , studied German, English, history and philosophy and passed the state examination in 1914. After the First World War he studied economics and received his doctorate in 1925 as a part-time job.

Until 1921 he was a study assessor, then association manager of the Oberbergischer employers' association, specialist group leather goods industry and chamber manager of the Bergische Chamber of Commerce and the Cologne Chamber of Commerce . From 1946, after returning from captivity, he was again the manager of the Cologne Chamber of Commerce.

Most recently, Habermas was managing director of the Association of the Cigarette Paper Processing Industry (VZI) in Gummersbach until his death.

His son is the philosopher Jürgen Habermas .
