Ernst Hansen (born March 4, 1813 in Kiel , † March 3, 1864 ) was a German theater actor and director .

Life

Hansen, the son of the seminar teacher and later (from 1832) inspector of the court garden in Schleswig Ernst Friedrich Hansen (1782–1842), initially studied medicine at the University of Kiel . However, it pushed him inexorably to the stage, which he also took on in Halberstadt in 1838 . In 1840 he came to Dessau , where he (previously bon vivant) switched to the comic subject. Since 1841 he worked at the Lübeck City Theater, where he distinguished himself not only as a performer, but also as a director and artistic director. He worked there until his death.
