Ernst Harzmann
Ernst Harzmann was a German functionary of the GDR bloc party LDPD . He was chairman of the LDPD regional association Mecklenburg .
Life
During the Weimar Republic , he joined the Association for Mecklenburg History and Archeology in 1931 as President of the Schwerin Post Office . After the seizure of power of the Nazis he was deposed as chief postmaster.
After the war he was a co-founder of the LDPD in Mecklenburg and on September 16, 1945 chaired the Schwerin branch. When the regional association was formed on January 4, 1946 in Schwerin, he was elected its first chairman. At the constituent meeting of the Advisory Assembly of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania - the pre-parliament of Mecklenburg - on July 29, 1946, he was elected as a member of the Presidium. At the first state party congress on April 26, 1947 in Schwerin, he was replaced by Max Suhrbier . From March 1948 to September 1949 he was an assessor on the LDPD state executive.
