Ernst Hellgardt

Ernst Hellgardt (born November 7, 1938 in Elbing ) is a German Germanic Medievalist .

Ernst Hellgardt studied German and philosophy in Munich and Tübingen from 1959. In 1970 he received his doctorate from the University of Munich . He has been a research assistant there since 1971, completed his habilitation in 1978, was appointed to the scientific council in 1978, in 1980 as C 2 professor and in 1994 as C 3 professor. There he taught older German language and literature until his retirement.
