Ernst Hohenstatter

Ernst Hohenstatter (* 1883 ; † 1954 ) was a German journalist and writer.

Life

Ernst Hohenstatter studied law at the Universities of Munich and Erlangen as well as philology at the University of Munich. In 1905 he became a member of the Corps Vandalia Munich. After graduating, he worked as an editor for Münchner Neuesten Nachrichten until 1914 . In 1918 he was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. In 1919 he took over the management of the city newspaper of the Münchner Zeitung . In 1923 he moved to the Franconian Courier in Nuremberg as head of the Munich editorial team . In 1929 he returned to the Münchener Zeitung as head of the district, of which he was editor-in-chief from 1933 to 1935. From 1936 to 1938 Hohenstatter, who was considered a nationally conservative editor, was editor-in-chief of the Münchner Neuesten Nachrichten .

In 1929 he was the artistic director of the Munich press festival. He was also active as an author of plays, musical plays and libretti.

Ernst Hohenstatter was buried in the forest cemetery in Munich.
