The Münch (e) ner Zeitung was a daily newspaper of the General-Anzeiger type and appeared from 1892 to 1943.

history

Since September 27, 1892 August Huck (1849–1911) published the Generalanzeiger of the Kgl. Capital and residence city of Munich with the subtitle impartial organ for everyone . From 1898 the paper was renamed Münchener Zeitung and published by Münchener Zeitungsverlag GmbH.

In the Weimar Republic she supported the respective Bavarian Prime Ministers and represented a tendency against Jews .

From 1928 to 1932 the circulation fluctuated between 105,000 and 110,000 copies and belonged to the group of Wolfgang Huck , the son of August Huck.

From 1933 Fritz Schumacher was the business editor, Alois Hahn was the local editor.

The Dresdner Latest News , which is also owned by Wolfgang Huck , was merged with the Dresdner Anzeiger from 1939, which was owned by the NSDAP . The Münchner Zeitung and the Hallische Nachrichten, owned by Wolfgang Huck, ceased publication on March 31, 1943 on the instructions of the Reich Press Chamber. In the same year Huck became a member of the NSDAP.
