Ernst Hoske

Ernst Hoske (* May 1921 in Groß Hilligsfeld near Hameln ; † April / May 1976 ) was a successful German motorcycle racer in off-road and road racing on 500 cm³ BMW machines , who enlarged his car and motorcycle workshop in Groß Hilligsfeld, among other things Manufactured tanks, seats and exhaust systems for BMW motorcycles as well as optical and mechanical tuning parts. His tanks became famous as "Hoske tanks", his sports silencers are known under the name "Hoske bags" and some of them are still being copied today. The workshop was taken over by Kurt Straubel in 1969 after Ernst Hoske had a workshop accident. Hoske's son-in-law later inherited the business. The workshop is now called “BMW Fuchs” and has moved to Hameln-Hottenbergsfeld.

Ernst Hoske was successful in two Grenzlandring races in the class up to 500 cm³: on September 11, 1949, he achieved third place and on September 17, 1950, second place. He also won the 1950 Feldberg race . At the national Solitude race on September 18, 1949, he finished fifth in the 500cc class, and on August 13, 1950, he was fourth on the Solitude.
