Ernst Ludwig Gottlob von Gersdorff

Ernst Ludwig Gottlob von Gersdorff (* December 12, 1732 in Lehn near Bautzen , † January 15, 1789 in Zangenberg ) was an electoral Saxon district governor, appointed condirector of the Naumburg monastery and owner of the manor.

Life

Gersdorff came from the Upper Lusatian noble family von Gersdorff and was born as the son of Johann Adolph von Gersdorff (1701–1753) and Christiana Louisa von Stein zu Altenstein. He embarked on an administrative career in the service of the Albertine Wettins and became governor of the Electorate of Saxony.

Under Friedrich Carl Freiherr von Seckendorff he was also appointed Kondirector in the Hochstift Naumburg . He was also heir, feudal lord and court lord on Zangenberg. From 1772 to 1785 he was temporarily the owner of the Kleinzschocher manor.

He married Eleonore Auguste Ernestine nee von Gersdorff (1753-1820) in Mückenhain. Karl August Ludwig von Gersdorff (* 1767) and Christian Adolph Ernst von Gersdorff (* 1773) were his two sons. In addition, the scholar Karl Friedrich Wilhelm von Gersdorff grew up with him after the death of his father, Friedrich Rudolph von Gersdorff, and was tutored by the private tutor Crusius, the father of the future rector of the Princely School of Meissen .

His funeral took place on January 19, 1789 in the cemetery in Zangenberg.
