Ernst Pechlaner

Ernst Pechlaner (born November 9, 1954 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Member of the Tyrolean state parliament, vice-president of the Tyrolean state parliament and club chairman of the SPÖ and city councilor of the state capital Innsbruck.

Ernst Pechlaner attended primary and secondary school in Innsbruck before moving to the local commercial school in 1969. In 1970 he left the commercial school and began an apprenticeship as a reproduction photographer, which he completed in 1974 with honors at the graphic vocational school in Innsbruck. He worked as a reproduction photographer until 1977 and was then ÖGB youth secretary in Tyrol until 1980. Pechlaner has been an education officer at the Tyrol Chamber of Labor since 1980 .

Ernst Pechlaner was elected deputy party chairman of the SPÖ Tirol in 1994 and held this position until 2013. From 2000 to 2013 Pechlaner was also party chairman of the SPÖ Innsbruck-Stadt and from 1994 to 2014 a member of the SPÖ federal party executive. Pechlaner was elected to the Tyrolean state parliament on April 5, 1994 and was its second vice-president between March 30, 1999 and October 21, 2003. From October 21, 2003 to November 16, 2010 Pechlaner was club chairman of the SPÖ in the Tyrolean state parliament. During his membership in the Tyrolean state parliament, Pechlaner was a member of various committees, including a. in the Committee for Legal, Community and Regional Planning Matters, Education Committee or member of the Emergency Committee. In October 2010, Pechlaner moved to the Innsbruck city government and was the city councilor for transport planning, traffic law, the environment and the energy industry until May 2012. From May 2012 to May 2018 Ernst Pechlaner was the official city councilor for social affairs, child and youth welfare, education, school and childcare in the state capital Innsbruck.
