Ernst Truscheit

Ernst Truscheit (born August 16, 1926 in Verden an der Aller ; † January 31, 2009 in Wuppertal ) was a German chemist.

Life

Ernst Truscheit studied chemistry and was awarded a doctorate in 1955 with the work on radical decomposition of ketoximes and their derivatives at the TH Hannover. rer. nat. PhD . In 1956 he joined Bayer AG and in 1969 took over the management of the Biochemical Institute in Wuppertal. From 1984 he coordinated the worldwide biotechnological research of Bayer AG.

Truscheit was involved in numerous specialist committees. From 1983 to 1991 he was treasurer of the Society of German Chemists (GDCh).

From 1991 to 1998 he was Secretary General of the Society of German Natural Scientists and Doctors (GDNÄ) , the oldest and largest interdisciplinary scientific association in Germany.
