Ernst Wolter

Ernst Wolter (born October 9, 1886 , † June 11, 1967 near Riebau ) was a fatality on the inner-German border .

Death on the border

In Bock life living West German Ernst Wolter probably crossed in search of cows on the morning of June 11, 1967 from the west coming the border and kicked at 6:05 on a mine that tore away his left leg below the knee and the right Leg shattered below the knee. At first it could not be recovered by the GDR border guards who had rushed over to it, as they did not know the exact location of the mines. Ernst Wolter gave the last signs of life around 8:25 a.m. and was then recovered dead.

At 80, Ernst Wolter was probably the oldest person killed on the inner-German border.
