Ernst von Sallwürk

Ernst von Sallwürk ( May 7, 1839 in Sigmaringen - July 10, 1926 in Karlsruhe ) was a German educator.

Life

Sallwürk studied philology in Berlin and Tübingen . In 1868 he became rector of the high school in Hechingen and in 1873 professor at the grammar school in Baden-Baden. In 1874 he was then rector of the pedagogy in Pforzheim and in 1877 he was appointed high school councilor and member of the high school authorities. He was also a professor of education at the Technical University in Karlsruhe. In 1904 he was appointed privy councilor. From 1909 he was an extraordinary member of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences . He belonged to the "writing core of the educational school" Johann Friedrich Herbarts (1776–1841). In his native town Sigmaringen is on the eastern outskirts, near the former -Stauffenberg barracks count the off-Sallwürk street named after him.
