First oil well in mainland China

The first oil well of mainland China ( Chinese  中国大陆第一口油井 , Pinyin Zhōngguó Dalu dì-yī kǒu yóujǐng ) or the former Yanyijing -Stätte ( 延一井旧址 , Yányījǐng jiùzhǐ ) in the district of Yanchang (延长县) of the prefecture-level city Yan ' an in the north of Shaanxi Province is the first modern oil well on Chinese soil. It dates from 1907 during the Qing Dynasty . It belonged to the state-owned Yangchang Petroleum Factory (延长 石油官 厂) founded in 1905, today's Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Limited Cooperation (延长 石油 集团 | 延长 石油 集团). As early as 1303 of the time of the Mongol dynasty (Yuan dynasty), oil wells are reported from there. Petroleum was discovered there as early as the Qin and Han times . The spring is located on the premises of the Shiyou xiwang xiaoxueyuan (石油 希望 小 学院) school.

The former Yanyijing site ( Yanyijing jiuzhi ) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (4-250) since 1996 .
