The first international wheel tournament took place from 2nd to 4th August 1930 in Bad Kissingen . On Monday, August 4, 1930, the participants met for a country conference to discuss the future of the new sport. The main organizer was Otto Feick , the inventor of the gym wheel . The Kissinger Saale-Zeitung wrote in a preliminary announcement: “After the enthusiastic reception that the gymnastics wheel found in countries outside of Germany, the sports circles of almost all European nations will focus their attention these days on Bad Kissingen, where foreigners with the German gym wheel enter the general competition. "

In addition to many press representatives, three camera teams also visited the competition: including UFA , the Bavarian Emelka (forerunner of Bavaria Film) and the French company Gaumont . The American Paramount at least announced their participation.

The main venues were the airfield, Luitpoldpark and the Regentenbau .

The Berlin weekly newspaper Die Woche dedicated a detailed report with photographs to the topic in its September 6, 1930 issue. Participants came from Great Britain , France , the USA and the Soviet Union , among others .
