Erwin Schrödinger scholarship

The Erwin Schrödinger scholarship is a scholarship abroad that has been awarded to young, highly qualified researchers in Austria since 1985 by the Fund for the Promotion of Scientific Research (FWF). It bears the name of the Austrian physicist, scientific theorist and Nobel Prize winner Erwin Schrödinger . Among many other scholarship holders are Ernst Fehr , Martin Nowak , Markus Hengstschläger and Veit Krenn . After receiving an Erwin Schrödinger scholarship, 64% of the fellows make the leap to a professorship.

The researcher submits a project application, which is assessed.

Objective:

  • Promotion of participation in leading research institutions abroad, acquisition of international experience in the postdoc phase.

Requirement:

  • completed doctorate
  • international scientific publications
  • Letter of invitation from the foreign research institution
  • When applying for a return phase: Confirmation from the domestic research institution
