Erwin Göbel (born September 23, 1959 in Aßlar ) is commercial director and former chairman of the board of the 1. FC Kaiserslautern football club .

Göbel studied business administration in Giessen and then worked as a business administration graduate in various positions at Pfaff AG , most recently (until 1997) as head of financial accounting .

From June 1, 1997 to July 31, 2006, Göbel was Head of Controlling / Accounting at 1. FC Kaiserslautern, and since 2002 also a member of the board of the association. On August 1, 2006, he replaced René C. Jäggi as CEO, who had resigned due to relegation to the 2nd division. On April 8, 2008, Erwin Göbel was replaced as CEO by Stefan Kuntz and has since worked as commercial director at 1. FC Kaiserslautern. On August 28, 2008, the contract with 1. FCK was terminated.

Erwin Göbel is married and has a son and a daughter. He has lived with them in Kaiserslautern since 1995 .
