Erwin Hipp

Erwin Georg Hipp (born August 29, 1928 in Zell near Füssen; † October 2, 2012 ) was a German orthopedist.

Career

On November 1, 1969, Hipp followed the call to the newly founded chair for orthopedics at the Klinikum rechts der Isar in Munich, which he held until his retirement on September 30, 1996. He was a pioneer in the development of endoprostheses . As director of the Clinic for Orthopedics and Sports Orthopedics, he made a significant contribution to the clinic's international reputation.
