Erwin Reibedanz

Erwin Reibedanz (born October 3, 1878 , † March 8, 1919 ) was a German entrepreneur and laundry owner in Berlin .

His steam laundry at Teilestrasse 23 in Tempelhof for house and industrial laundry had, in addition to mangle, flattening and drying rooms, boiler and machine rooms as well as an acceptance and sorting room. The building, erected in 1912 according to a design by Bruno Taut and Franz Hoffmann , is one of the early examples of expressionist architecture in Berlin and is now a listed building .

The apartment building Adolf-Martens-Straße 14 in Lichterfelde, built between 1910 and 1911 for Reibedanz by Taut and Hoffmann, is now also a listed building. Erwin Reibedanz's son later married the sister of the architect Franz Hoffmann.

Bruno Taut's brother, Max Taut , designed an extraordinary grave obelisk made of shell limestone for Erwin Reibedanz's grave in the Luisenstadt cemetery . This is still preserved today.
