Erwin Siekmann

Erwin Siekmann (born March 9, 1936 in Bochum ) is a German politician of the SPD .

education and profession

After graduating from primary school in 1951, Erwin Siekmann attended the commercial school of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bochum. From June 1951 to June 1954 he completed an apprenticeship at the Barmer Ersatzkasse. He finished this in 1954 with an apprenticeship as a social security clerk. He then worked from June 1954 to June 1958 as a clerk at the Barmer Ersatzkasse; from July 1958 to June 1961 he was branch manager at the Barmer Ersatzkasse. From July 1961 to December 1966 Siekmann worked as a clerk with special tasks at the company health insurance company Stahlwerk Bochum AG. In 1963 he passed the first and in 1966 the second administrative examination to become a health insurance business administrator. This was followed by six semesters of study at the DGB (economics, business administration, social policy). From January 1967 to December 1990 he was head of department and later head of department at the Hoesch Dortmund company health insurance fund. Since January 1991 Siekmann has been deputy managing director of the company health insurance fund Hoesch Dortmund.

He has been a member of IG Metall since 1965. Erwin Siekmann was also a member of the staff council and the main staff council of the Barmer Ersatzkasse for several years.

Erwin Siekmann was a directly elected member of the 12th and 13th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1995 to 2005 .
