Erwin Splettstößer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Erwin Splettstößer († 1931 in Berlin ) was a German actor.

Erwin Splettstößer, who worked as a taxi driver, was hired as an amateur actor for the film Menschen am Sonntag in 1929 , which was directed by Robert Siodmak . Splettstößer took a liking to film work and so Siodmak also used him in his two feature films Farewell (1930) and Preliminary Investigation (1931). Splettstößer would have loved to have made a career as a comedian. However, there were no more film appearances: In 1931 the Berliner was run over by his own taxi when he closed the garage door. Apparently the handbrake had come off.
