Ery Bos (born October 3, 1908 in Berlin , † March 10, 2005 in Chappaqua , Westchester County , New York ; born Erika Bos ) was a Dutch- German actress .

Life

The daughter of the Dutch composer and pianist Coenraad V. Bos received dance lessons when she was ten and began her artistic career as a dancer in Berlin in the 1920s . At 17 she was a solo dancer in Dortmund and soon became a ballet master at various theaters. After taking language lessons with Ilka Grüning , she became an actress.

In 1932 she made her film debut alongside Peter Lorre in Schuß at Dawn . She quickly became known to a wider audience through appearances in films such as Roman One Night (with Gustav Dießl ), Every Woman Has a Secret (with Hans Söhnker ), Impossible Love (with Asta Nielsen ) and Der Zarewitsch (with Martha Eggerth ). Although her film career spanned only three years (1932-1934), she appeared in twelve films.

During the National Socialist rule, Ery Bos emigrated to the USA for racial reasons , where she lived as Ery Grünfeld and died on March 10, 2005 in New York State at the age of 96. She never returned to film.
