It tones the songs is a well-known and popular folk and Frühlingslied an unknown composers from the 19th century , the tradition of the spring is to be welcomed. The easy-to-sing melody is designed as a canon of three voices . The song was probably first published in 1869 from the estate of the gymnastics teacher Adolf Spieß , who developed a sequence of steps for the song that was first performed in 1853.
