It was all the best is the nineteenth studio album by German pop singer Jürgen Drews . It was released on March 27, 2015 via the Rhingtön or Universal Music label and reached number 41 in the German charts, where it lasted two weeks. In Austria, however, the album could not be charted.

background

Regarding the title of the album, Drews himself said in an interview: “I can sign the text like this: That's me, that's how I think. This song touches me because it explains me and my thinking. I couldn't explain myself with a party title or hit title. Every word here expresses a part of me. ”Despite his old age in the music business, Drews“ reinvented himself ”that listening to the album would confirm this. Compared to his earlier long players, there are also good “dance tracks” to be heard here, and, according to Drews , everything was designed to be varied.

Editor Dani Fromm from laut.de gave the album two out of five possible stars and praised Drews' vocal interludes, which, despite his limited talent, "doesn't look bad at all". She also praised the album's “positive message”, which is not original, but authentic. The first songs on the sound carrier are passable, but then mainly “good mood love songs” will follow. Drews tried to adapt to the zeitgeist, but this would not work and many songs would end up sounding like a "big disco hit" from the 1990s.
