The Escape Club

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Escape Club was a British rock band from London that existed from 1983 to 1992. The band was founded by vocalist Trevor Steel and guitarist John Holliday from Mad Shadows , joined by Milan Zekavica, drummer for Espressos and bassist Johnnie Christo.

Career

After releasing their first single, they made a name for themselves mainly as a live band, which led to a contract with EMI and in 1987 their debut album White Fields . Their next album Wild Wild West in a more danceable style was rejected by EMI, so they came in 1988 with Atlantic Records . The single of the same name reached first place in the American charts and the album reached gold status. In 1991 the rockier album Dollars & Sex followed . Then the band broke up.
