Escape With Romeo is a German rock band that was founded in Cologne in 1989 . She describes her style of music as "Post Punk meets modern Electronica". Characteristic of the music of Escape With Romeo is the guitar sound by Thomas Elbern in combination with electronic elements.

history

Escape With Romeo was founded in 1989 in Cologne by singer and guitarist Thomas Elbern. Before that, he had already appeared as the front man of the new wave formation Strange States and then as a guitarist and songwriter for the German dark wave / indie rock band Pink Turns Blue . The first single Somebody from the self-titled debut album became a hit in the scene. Keyboard player Martin Pott has been part of the line-up since the second long player Autumn On Venus . After the first five albums were released via Sound Factory, the band released their releases from 2001 on the Zeitklang Records label, run by Thomas Elbern . In 2017 the group announced their departure on their homepage. After a last tour in 2018 and two festival appearances in summer 2019, Escape With Romeo is to be dissolved.
