Eslām Tschūngar (also Islam Tschomgar ) is a small town in the Juzdschan Province in northern Afghanistan .
Eslām Tschūngar is located on the south bank of the Amudarja River , which forms the border with the neighboring state of Turkmenistan . The city is located at an altitude of 370 m , one hundred kilometers northeast of the provincial capital Scheberghan and one hundred kilometers northwest of Mazār-i Sharīf . The city's population is less than 5,000.
