Espido Freire
Espido Freire (actually: Laura Espido Freire ; born July 16, 1974 in Bilbao ) is a Spanish writer .
She grew up as the daughter of a Galician emigrant in a village near Bilbao and soon discovered her literary and musical talent, so that she took singing lessons and began to paint very early. She studied English at the University of Deusto.
Her third novel, Frozen Peaches (Melocotones helados), received the most prestigious Spanish literary prize, the Premio Planeta, in 1999.
