Espoirs Nouakchott is a Mauritanian football club from Nouakchott , the capital of the country. The club's greatest successes were three successive cup wins in 1976, 1977 and 1978, and in 1983 the cup could also be won. With a total of four cup wins, Espoirs Nouakchott is one of the teams with the most cup wins in Mauritania. As a cup winner, Nouakchott also took part in the now defunct African Cup Winners' Cup , but always retired early. The club could no longer build on its early successes.
