Esrom

Esrom is a Danish , light yellow type of cheese made from cow's milk . The name of the cheese goes back to the monastery of the same name in Denmark. Cheese is still produced there today according to a traditional recipe from this monastery. Esrom is characterized by its strong taste. It is made in the form of rectangular blocks, the rind is yellowish, the dough is light with irregular holes the size of rice grains.

The production of Esrom is protected and restricted to Denmark. Only cheese made from Danish milk is allowed to bear the name Esrom.
