Essbase

Essbase (short for Extended Spread Sheet dataBASE ) is a multidimensional database system ( MDBMS ) for creating analytical evaluations.

  • Essbase was originally developed by Arbor Software, which was integrated into their software of the same name by Hyperion Solutions in 1998 .
  • By the end of 2005, Essbase was sold by IBM as a DB2 OLAP Server .
  • At the end of March 2007, Hyperion was taken over by Oracle .
