Essential mix
The Essential Mix is a weekly music broadcast on BBC Radio 1 that supports all styles of electronic dance music . The show has been moderated by DJ Pete Tong since its conception in 1992 . A two-hour program airs every Saturday, usually between 4:00 and 6:00 AM UK time. The standard format of the show consists of a 2-hour guest mix by an invited DJ , group or producer , announced in advance by Pete Tong.
Usually the mix is pre-recorded in the recording studio . However, there are also live broadcasts from clubs or festivals. During the summer months, events will be broadcast within the UK , Ibiza and across Europe. In winter, the Miami Winter Music Conference will be broadcast among others.
