The Estadio La Casa Blanca is a football stadium in the Ecuadorian capital Quito . It offers space for 55,104 spectators and serves as the home of the LDU Quito association .
The Estadio La Casa Blanca was built between 1995 and 1997. On March 6, 1997, the first game then took place in the new stadium, in which LDU Quito and Atlético Mineiro from Brazil faced each other. In the end, the club from the capital of Ecuador won 3-1. LDU Quito has played its home games at the Estadio La Casa Blanca since 1997. That is why it is often referred to as the Estadio de Liga Deportiva Universitaria , because LDU Quito is pronouncedly Liga Deportiva Universitaria Quito . The club, which was founded in 1930, has won nine Ecuadorian championships so far, including eight Ecuadorian amateur champions, as professional football has only existed in the small country in northwestern South America since 1968. LDU Quito has also won the Copa Libertadores once , namely in 2008 . In the final, they prevailed against Fluminense Rio de Janeiro 3-1 on penalties after they were tied on two legs.
