Esteban Klísich

Esteban Klísich (born December 26, 1955 in Montevideo , Uruguay ) is a Uruguayan guitarist , composer and author .

Klisich was born in the Montevidean district of Belvedere . He received his musical training from Amilcar Rodríguez Inda , Abel Carlevaro , Guido Santórsola , Renée Marino Rivero , Coriún Aharonián and Graciela Paraskevaídis, among others . In 1974 he received a scholarship from the Palestrina Music Faculty to take part in the competition of the Sixth International Guitar Week . In 1977 he received a special mention for his work Carbono 14 in the composition competition 30 años de Editorial Barry in Buenos Aires . In 1989 he was awarded the 4th prize at the municipal record competition for his work "Planetario". For the two books Pequeño manual de armonía and Manual de rasgueos y ejercicios para la mano derecha he received an award in 1996 and 1998 from FONAM , Fondo Capital and AGADU . In 2003 he was again awarded first prize by FONAM for his record Veintiocho and four years later for his double album Kraj . Klisich, who also works as a lecturer, is a founding member of Taller Uruguayo de Música Contemporánea and Taller Uruguayo de Música Popular (TUMP), as well as the Casa de la Guitarra .
