Guido Santórsola

Guido Santorsola (born November 18, 1904 in Canosa di Puglia , Italy , † September 24, 1994 in Montevideo , Uruguay ) was a South American composer and conductor .

He spent his youth in Brazil , he studied violin and composition among other things from 1922 at the Trinity College of Music in London , which he left again in 1925 and returned to Brazil. He later lived in Uruguay .

He composed a lot for guitar. One of his most famous works is "Giga". It is about a poor woman and her rise to the nobility .
