Estefania Tapias

Estefanía Tapias (* 19th May 1988 ) is an in Switzerland active Colombian city climate researcher and entrepreneur .

Career

In 2012 Estefania Tapias completed her architecture studies at the Politechnikum Turin . In 2016, Tapias received his doctorate on urban climate research and Future Cities at the ETH Zurich . Between 2013 and 2016 she lectured on this topic at the ETH. With the help of big data , she investigated the influence of climatic and architectural conditions on urban quality of life. She carried out research both in the Futur Cities laboratory at the ETH in Singapore and in the “Urban Climate & Information Cities” project that she launched herself. During her academic career, she helped develop the first series of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) on Future Cities on edX . She has been part of the Global Shaper network of the World Economic Forum since 2016 . In 2107 Forbes included her in the list of the 30 most promising researchers in Europe under 30 years of age in the field of “Science & Healthcare”. In 2018 she founded the network and co-working company WeSpace in Zurich. Tapias conclusion: There is no space in the city of Zurich where women can really work together and exchange ideas. Tapias left WeSpace GmbH as a partner and managing director on January 21, 2020.
