Ester Carloni

Ester Carloni (actually Esterina Carloni ; born January 27, 1905 in Guardiagrele , † April 6, 1996 in Rome ) was an Italian actress .

Life

Carloni started out as a performer in the Neapolitan dialect theater, gaining stage experience at an early age alongside her siblings (two of whom married her acting partners Titina and Peppino De Filippo ). She was seen as a supporting actress in countless comedies and was only engaged in similar parts for the cinema when she had passed the age of 50. Until 1992 she did not work too often, but regularly in roles of quirky old maids or stubborn clerk. Occasional television work can also be found in Carloni's filmography.
