The Estrada de Ferro Amapa (EFA) is a private Brazilian railway line (track width 1,435 mtr with a length of 194 kilometers of track), which from 1957 to the company Empresa Indústria e Comércio de Minério SA - ICOMI and later to 49% and the Bethlehem Steel Corporation was among , In 1989 the Brazilian mining company Caemi took over the route to transport manganese from an ore mine in the hinterland to the seaport of Porto de Santana in the state of Amapá . This line was discontinued in 1997 but was still partially operated to transport chromite. Passenger transport was also carried out on the route. In 1997 they transported 84,000 passengers annually as well as around 1 million metric tons of mine products and general cargo.

In March 2006 the company MMX Mineração e Metálicos received the concession (20 years) to operate the railway line. The railway company MMX Logística , founded for this purpose, undertook to renew the route between Porto de Santana e Serra do Navio and to procure new wagon material.
