Caemi was a Brazilian mining company based in Rio de Janeiro . The company was listed in the IBOVESPA financial index .

Caemi had iron ore mines in the Iron Quadrangle in the state of Minas Gerais and Kaolinitbergwerke the company CADAM and PPSA in the northern states of Amapá and Pará .

The joint venture Minerações Brasileiras Reunidas (MBR), which was founded in 1965 together with the MA Hanna Company , was Brazil's second largest iron ore producer from 1971.

The company also held shares in the logistics company MRS Logística , which operates a rail network in southeastern Brazil. Caemi was also a co-owner of Jari , the largest “floating” cellulose factory in Amazonia, until the end of the 1990s , until it was taken over by Grupo Orsa in 2000 .
