The joint venture Minerações Brasileiras Reunidas (MBR), which was founded in 1965 together with the MA Hanna Company , was Brazil's second largest iron ore producer from 1971.
MBR also operated the largest iron ore terminal in Brazil on the island of Ilha da Madeira near Sepetiba in the state of Rio de Janeiro ( ).
Holdings
The company also held shares in the logistics company MRS Logística , which operates a rail network in southeastern Brazil. Caemi was also a co-owner of Jari , the largest “floating” cellulose factory in Amazonia, until the end of the 1990s , until it was taken over by Grupo Orsa in 2000 .
