The Ethiopian News Agency ( Amharic የኢትዮጵያ የወሬ ምንጭ , transcribed Ye Ityopya Zéna Agelgelot , English Ethiopian News Agency , abbreviated acronym ENA ) is a state news agency in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia .

The Ethiopian News Agency is the official news agency of the Ethiopian government and is also the oldest news organization in the country. It was founded in 1942 in the Abyssinian Empire . Thus it is also one of the first affiliated news agencies on the African continent.

Its official goal is to democratically create a national consensus among all Ethiopian peoples and to promote the reputation of the country of Ethiopia internationally.
