An ethno village ( Ethno village , Etno selo Serbian - Cyrillic Етно село ) is a Serbian museum village that provides insights into the past of Serbian lifestyle over several centuries. The traditionally built houses are made of wood or stone . Some of the houses have been converted to provide space for exhibitions , restaurants , studios and accommodation. The family life of the earlier village communities took place around the kuća , the house in which the head of the family lived. A family community consisted of up to 50 members.

Items of clothing and objects from that time are presented. There are leisure activities, as well as Serbian cuisine and local specialties. Ethno villages are open-air museums and tourist complexes at the same time. Some villages, which are particularly typical of the living conditions of the Serbian population of the Dinaric Mountains at that time, are now under state protection. One of the most famous Serbian ethno villages is Drvengrad in the Zlatibor Mountains in western Serbia.
