The Museum Ethnographic Museum on the Turtle Lake ( Georgian გიორგი ჩიტაიას სახელობის ეთნოგრაფიული მუზეუმი ღია ცის ქვეშ , giorgi chitaias sakhelobis et'nograp'iuli muzeumi ghia ts'is k'vesh ) is an open-air museum in the Georgian capital Tbilisi . It is located on the hill south of the city center and a little west of the Turtle Lake . It opened on April 27, 1966 and has been part of the Georgian National Museum since 2004 .

70 buildings from all parts of Georgia were transferred to the 52 hectare museum. These include stone and wooden farmhouses of various types. Furthermore, water mills , watchtowers , wineries, an early Christian basilica , a family crypt and 8000 objects of daily life can be seen.
The museum is easily accessible from the city center on a car road.
