The Turtle Lake ( Kus Tba , from Georgian კუს "turtle" and ტბა "lake") is a lake in the Georgian capital Tbilisi . It is a small lake above the prestigious Wake residential area. The name of the lake is probably due to the large numbers of turtles found here .

The turtle lake lies at an altitude of 686.7 m and is fed by the Varazis-Khevi stream, a tributary of the Mtkvari . The water surface is 0.034 km² and the lake is 2.6 m deep at the deepest point.

The turtle lake is a popular recreational area for the residents of the capital. The lake is connected to the Wake district by a well-developed road (formerly also by the funicular ).
