Ethos Capital

Ethos Capital is a private equity investment company founded in 2019 . Ethos Capital gained attention when they tried to take over the public interest registry , which manages the top-level domain .org , from the Internet Society for $ 1.135 billion . However, this was rejected by the ICANN Board.

According to its own information, Ethos Capital is involved in Whistle (sports network), Adhark, LiquidX and VidMob.

Connections to domain industry

Ethos Capital's founder - Erik Brooks - previously worked at Abry Partner. During his time at Abry, she took over Donuts , the largest domain registrar for gTLDs, in September 2018 . In October 2018, Akram Atallah, who was previously President of Global Domains at ICANN , became CEO of Donuts. In December 2018, Donuts co-founder Jon Nevett joined Public Interest Registry as CEO.

Some ICANN employees are also part of Ethos Capital. The former CEO Fadi Chehadé is a consultant with his company Chehadé & Company and Nora Abusitta-Ouri, the former Senior Vice President for Development and Public Responsibility , is the Chief Purpose Officer for Ethos Capital.
