Fadi Chehadé (* 1962 in Beirut , Lebanon ) is the founder of RosettaNet , Chehadé & Company and was the Chief Executive Officer of ICANN .

Chehadé grew up as the son of Egyptian parents in Lebanon until he emigrated to the USA in 1980. In 1985 he received a bachelor's degree in computer science from the Polytechnic Institute of New York University , and in 1986 a master's degree in industrial engineering from Stanford University . In 1986 he was naturalized in the USA .

After working as a systems engineer at Bell Labs , Chehadé founded Nett Information Products , which offered services for B2B information exchange based on Lotus Notes . After being bought by Ingram Micro in 1996, Chehadé led the further development of the product for use on the Internet . In 1997 he founded RosettaNet in order to develop standard formats for B2B information exchange in cooperation with several companies in the field of information and communication technology .

In 2000, Chehadé left his CEO position at RosettaNet to market supply chain management products through Viacore, which he founded in 1999 . After the takeover of Viacore by IBM in 2006, Chehadé worked for IBM until 2009, most recently as General Manager for IBM Global Technology Services for the Middle East and North Africa based in Dubai . Chehadé then headed the software company CoreObjects Software and later Vocado as CEO . At CoreObjects he met Akram Atallah , who later took on a managerial position at ICANN .

September 2012 Chehadé succeeded Rod Beckstrom as CEO of ICANN in Los Angeles . With his three-year contract, he receives an annual salary of US $ 560,000 and a bonus of up to $ 240,000. Chehadé extended his position until March 2016 and was then replaced by Göran Marby .

As a management consultant for Chehadé & Company, he works as a consultant for Ethos Capital .

Chehadé is married and the couple has two sons.
