The Etpison Museum is a museum in Koror , Palau .
history
Former President Ngiratkel Etpison donated land to build a museum. This was opened in August 1999. In 2014 renovation work was carried out and additional exhibits were exhibited.
architecture
The three-story building was designed by Shallum and Mandy Etpison . The exhibition area covers 279 m². The facade is covered with facing masonry and structured by richly decorated cast concrete elements. The front of the building is a veranda supported by concrete pillars. The pillars at the entrance represent a Palaui woman and a man in traditional clothing.
exhibition
The museum displays artifacts related to the country's history, currency, archeology and rock art, traditional navigation and architecture. Elaborately designed storyboards and carvings that depict stories and legends in images are particularly worth mentioning . They were made by masters of the art of carving. The museum also houses a souvenir shop on the upper floor.
