Euan Alistair Murray (born August 7, 1980 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish rugby union player who is used on the position of the pillar . He is part of the Scottish national team and active for the Northampton Saints .
Murray went through all of Scotland's youth national teams and was signed in 2001 by the Glasgow Hawks . In 2003 he moved to the Glasgow Warriors and became a professional player in the Magners League . In his first game against Cardiff , he made his first and only attempt in this competition. In 2005 he ran for the first time for the Scottish national team against Romania . In the following years he secured a regular place and came among other things to four appearances at the 2007 World Cup .
In 2009 he was nominated for the British and Irish Lions Tour to South Africa . With the Saints he won the European Challenge Cup in the same year . He was injured in the run-up to the first game against South Africa and had to leave the Lions tour prematurely.
