Eucalyptus resinifera is a plant from the genus of eucalypti ( Eucalyptus ) within the family of myrtle (Myrtaceae). It isnative to Australia and is called "Red Mahogany" there.

description

Eucalyptus resinifera grows as an evergreen tree that can reach heights of up to 45 meters. The bark is reddish brown and fibrous. The tree leads to a red cinema .

There is heterophyllia . The leaves of young specimens are approximately ovate to broadly lanceolate and shiny dark green. The leaves of adult specimens are lanceolate with a length of 9 to 16 cm and a width of 2 to 4 cm. They are dark green, shiny, and have different colors on the top and bottom. The leaf blades are pinnate , with the numerous, conspicuous side nerves arranged more or less parallel to each other.

The 8 to 42 mm long inflorescence stem is narrow, flattened or angular. The inflorescence contains seven to eleven or more flowers. The peduncle is 4 to 14 mm long. The buds are spindle-shaped with a length of 12 to 15 mm and a diameter of about 6 mm. The Calyprta is elongated, pointed or tapering like a beak, longer than and narrower or as wide as the flower cup.

The fruits are hemispherical or approximately ovoid with a length of 5 to 11 mm and a diameter of 5 to 11 mm.

Occurrence

Eucalyptus resinifera can be locally abundant and occurs in Australia in the north of Jervis Bay Territory , in New South Wales and in Queensland . Eucalyptus resinifera thrives in moist or dry hardwood forests on deep soil with medium to high fertility .

Systematics

The first publication of Eucalyptus resinifera was made in 1790 by James Edward Smith .

Of Eucalyptus resinifera there are two subspecies :

  • Eucalyptus resinifera subsp. resinifera
  • Eucalyptus resinifera subsp. hemilampra : With her, the calyptra is more than three times as long as the flower cup .
