Eucharius Holzach (painter)

Eucharius Holzach (* 1705 in Basel , † after 1752) was a Swiss art and faience painter .

Life

Eucharius Holzach was born as the son of the Leist tailor Hieronymus Holzach and his wife Margaretha Märkt. In 1731 he was accepted into the Guild of Heaven in Basel . In 1742 he worked on the coat of arms of the weavers' guild . He also worked as a faience painter. From 1749 to 1752 he is attested as an employee of the Höchst Porcelain Manufactory in Höchst . He was married to Elisabeth Jenny and was the teacher of his son Hieronymus Holzach .
