Hieronymus Holzach (painter)

Hieronymus Holzach (born March 8, 1733 in Basel , † 1793 in Basel) was a Swiss painter.

Life

Hieronymus Holzach took up the profession of painter like his father Eucharius . In 1759 he was involved in the restoration of the Basel town hall. In 1763 he became head of the newly founded government drawing school. From 1769 he was a member of the board of the painter guild for heaven . 1772–1774 he was federal governor in Mendrisio .
