Euctemon is an impact crater on the northeastern edge of the moon's front . To the southwest lies the large crater plain of Meton , in the southeast it touches the edge of Baillaud , to the northeast lies De Sitter . Because of its location close to the edge, Euctemon is difficult to see from the earth.

The crater was named by the IAU in 1935 after the Greek astronomer Euktemon .
